Wow... really not that bad.  Read on for one of the softest reviews I've done in a long time.

We have Chris Emerson and his sister Nicole, recently orphaned but luckily old enough to rent a place of their own.  They move and rent a place from their aunt, which is a real dump.  Makes me glad my family likes me.  Chris is apparently a famous surfer who lost it after his parents passed away, but meets up with another group of surfers.  (I forgot to mention that right at the beginning we do find out they're vampires)  Well, Nicole ends up getting turned and Chris ends up enlisting the help of Edgar Frog to try to save her.

Overall I have to say this was a pretty decent sequel, at least it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.  Decent action and story, some cheesy dialog but (let's be honest), the original did too.  I'd recommend people check this one out, at least to kill some time.  Outside of Edgar Frog and a brief, disappointing and seemingly unrelated blip revitalizing Corey Haim's role as Sam Emerson, this has no real ties to the story of the original.  That's fine too, as I don't really think a full 90 minutes of the Coreys would have received this tame of a review.

I don't want to break anyone's dream, but I didn't think this movie held a candle to the original. I got this over netflix on my xbox the other week and would've turned it off multiple times, but I wanted to give it it's chance since IZ said it was decent, but I'm crying fowl:)

It was decent as a vampire movie, but I really wish they would have Edgar Frog out of it, because he gave it a 'silliness' it didn't need. I think if it was just its own movie and not a sequel, I would've enjoyed it more.

Well, I guess I can't totally disagree with you SadEx. The part of Edgar Frog did up the "cheese" factor. I don't really think it felt well as a sequel, since there were really no other ties to the original.
