Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever
Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever

This movie was not as bad as I thought it was going to be - but that's not saying a lot given the previews.

I remember the first time I saw a preview for Cabin Fever 2, and thinking it was going to be about the worst thing ever made.  I thought it was going to be people running around, puking blood and screaming for 80% of the movie (since it seemed like it was 80% of the trailer).  Well, I was pleasantly surprised that this had a decent story line and was fairly entertaining.

To recap, the main water source out in the wilderness is tainted by infected corpses which kills a bunch of friends out on vacation.  This movie picks up with a bottling company taking said water and distributing it to a local high school that's preparing for prom.  Similar to the last movie, you have a guy hopelessly in love with a girl who's his friend.  He and his friend are more of the loveable losers, which of course prompts an antagonist to add to the plot.  All of this and prepping for prom lead to the main event: the outbreak of the flesh-eating virus nailing people in the school during prom, and the military coming to put the school under quarantine and shooting anyone who tries to escape.

This isn't a bad movie, but definitely isn't half as good as the first one.  The gore content makes it painfully awesome to watch, and the plot moves the film along without making it boring.  Definitely worth checking out, and it's nice to see the same Deputy back for an encore role.
